Think about: What is your goal in life?

I got to this topic actually because I'm thinking about my own life's strategy. As with all strategy planning, you absolutely have to start with the GOAL in mind.  You know, the whole Goal > Strategy > Execution thing..

So... what's the Goal of your life?
Can you articulate your goal in a simple sentence?  Well, frankly I can't.  See, the problem is that if you don't know what you're setting out to achieve, then I can promise you for sure that you can't get there. But there's also this fear in life-goal setting; this fear that you won't know what to do when you get there.

Here are some basic life goals that people generally end up with..
  1. Financial Goals;
    • Pros: Lots of stuff
    • Cons: Won't be happy
  2. Happiness  (feels weird to call it "Happiness Goals")
    • Pros: At least you're happy
    • Cons: No purpose. Just take drugs and be "happy"
  3. Spiritual Goals
    • Pros: Fulfill a higher calling. Most probably won't "get there" 100%
    • Cons: Might be wrong, and you're screwed
  4. Family
    • Pros: You get to be "happy"
    • Cons: Most probably end up broke. Or kind-of. And definitely not a well respected goal in society, even though it's probably quite well-received
  5. Power
    • Pros: You get to tell people what to do
    • Cons: The responsibility of others lie on your shoulders, no real freedom, and what happens when you get there?
  6. Achievements
    • Pros: Simple, and focused. Weight-lifting titles? Dance battles? Pick your passion!
    • Cons: Almost guaranteed to seem small and superficial later in life. And after your win your 15th Olympic gold medal, then what? Go for your 16th?
  7. No Goals / A combination of goals
    • Pros: Flexibility and freedom
    • Cons: You'll end up as a "nobody", but come to think of it, that's just one step down from "family".. maybe.
Well.. it looks dire here on out.  Good luck!
